Vista: How to enable the chime

To enable the chime on a Vista panel, enter your 4-digit user code followed by the number 9 on the keypad, and a confirmation will appear on the display. This will toggle the chime on or off, so the system must be disarmed to change the setting.

Enable chime with a user code

  1. Ensure the system is disarmed.
  2. Enter your 4-digit master or user code.
  3. Press the 9 key. The word “CHIME” should appear on the keypad display, indicating it is now enabled.
  4. To disable it, repeat the same process: enter your code followed by the 9 key. 

Enable chime in programming (Chime by Zone) 

If you want to enable chime for specific zones, you’ll need to enter the installer code and use programming commands. 

  1. Enter the installer code (default is 4112) followed by 800 to access programming mode.
  2. Go to field *26 (Chime By Zone List / Keypad Sound Enables).
  3. Enter 1 to enable the feature.
  4. You can then add specific zones to the chime list for the feature to work as intended.
