Program 5834 on Vista

To program a Honeywell Vista 20 keyfob, you must first enter installer programming by entering your installer code + 800. Next, go to the *58 menu, and learn the keyfob’s unique serial number by pressing and holding any button on the fob. Then, assign the fob’s loops to specific functions, such as arming and disarming, by selecting a template or programming each zone individually. Finally, authorize the keyfob to be used by a user by entering master code + 8 + user number + #4 + starting zone.

  1. Access Programming Mode
    • Enter your Installer Code(default is 4112).
      Press 800 to enter programming mode.

    2. Access Wireless Key Programming 

    • Press *58 to enter the wireless key programming menu.
      If prompted, you can set “Set to Confirm” to 1 for a confirmation ding.

    3. Learn the Keyfob’s Serial Number

    • Press the D (bottom function) key to select your desired fob template. 
      Press the * key to confirm the template selection and display the zone summary. 
      Press * again and enter the partition number for the fob. 
      Enter the starting zone number (e.g, 49) for the keyfob and press *. 
      Press and hold any button on the keyfob until the LED flashes twice. The serial number will appear on the display.

    4. Program Keyfob Functions

    • The system will now display the zones for the keyfob, corresponding to each button.
      You can press the \* key to confirm the settings for each zone or exit the template mode by pressing 00, then *, then * again.

    5. Authorize the Keyfob for a Use

    • To link the keyfob to a user, enter Master Code + 8 + User Number + #4 + Starting Zone Number (e.g., 1234 + 8 + 02 + #4 + 49).
      A confirmation ding indicates the fob is authorized for that user.

    6. Exit Programming Mode

    • Once all programming is complete, press *99 to exit the programming mode.
