DMP: Connect with system link

Connecting a  DMP panel to System Link software involves configuring both the panel’s communication settings and the System Link software itself. The primary connection methods are generally via a network (IP address), cellular, or dialer (telephone line). 

In the DMP Panel (via Keypad Programming)

You need to configure the panel to allow network or dialer communication with the computer running System Link.

  1. Access the programming menu: Go to a keypad and enter the default user code (typically 99 on panels made before 2020) or your installer code, then press CMD until you see the programming options.
  2. Configure Communication Path:
    • Navigate to the COMMUNICATION menu.
    • Set the panel ACCOUNT NUMBER.
    • Select the communication TYPE (NET for network, DD for dialer, or Cell for cellular).
    • Enter the IP Address or Phone Number of the computer/server running System Link, or the monitoring center receiver.
    • Enter the corresponding Port Number if using an IP address (default is often 2001 or 2002).
    • Continue to press CMD until STOP displays, then press a select area button to save the programming.
  1. Configure Remote Options (if applicable):
    • Navigate to the REMOTE OPTIONS menu.
    • Set a REMOTE KEY (a unique value, up to 16 digits). This key must be entered into System Link software to establish a secure connection. 

In the System Link Software (on your computer)

  1. Install the Software: Ensure System Link is installed on your computer.
  2. Register the Software: Open System Link and go to Help > Registration to enter the serial number from your Certificate of Authentication and activate the software.
  3. Configure Connection Information:
    • In System Link, go to the System menu and select Configure.
    • Select the appropriate connection type (Network, Dialer, etc.) matching your panel configuration.
    • Enter the panel’s IP Address and Port Number, or the phone number, depending on the connection type.
    • Enter the Account Number and Remote Key you configured in the panel.
  1. Connect to the Panel:
    • Go to the Panel menu and select Connect.
    • System Link will attempt to establish a connection with the DMP panel. Once connected, you can manage users, schedules, and view events.
