PC5010: Program wired zone

To program the onboard zone on a DSC PC5010, first enter programming mode by pressing *8 followed by the installer code. Then, navigate to section 001.

  1. Enter Installer Programming Mode:
    • Press *8 followed by your Installer Code (the default is often 5555 or 5010).
    • The “Armed” light will come on, and the “Program” light will flash to indicate you are in programming mode.
  2. Access Zone Definitions Section:
    • Enter 001 (Section 001 is used for zones 1-16).
  3. Program Zone 2 Definition:
    • The system will prompt you for Zone 1’s 2-digit definition. Enter that definition (if necessary, or it will already be set).
    • After entering the definition for Zone 1, the system will automatically advance to the prompt for Zone 2. Enter the 2-digit zone definition number that corresponds to the desired behavior for Zone 2 (e.g., delay zone, instant zone, interior zone, etc.).

Some common zone definitions:

  • 01 – Entry/Exit Delay 1
  • 02 – Entry/Exit Delay 2
  • 03 – Instant Alarm (no delay)
  • 04 – Interior Follower
  • 05 – Interior Stay/Away
  • 06 – 24-Hour Silent Alarm
  • 07 – 24-Hour Audible Alarm
  • 08 – 24-Hour Auxiliary
  • 09 – Fire Zone (typically 2-wire or 4-wire)

  1. Continue or Exit:
    • Once you enter the 2-digit code for Zone 2, the keypad will triple beep and automatically advance to Zone 3.
    • Continue entering definitions for subsequent zones you are using, or press # # # to exit programming mode completely.
  2. Enable the Zone (if needed):
    • Only zones 1 to 8 are enabled by default. If you are using additional zones, you must enable them in the Partition Zone Assignments sections. For Zone 2, this is already enabled by default.
  3. Test the Zone:
    • Exit programming mode, then violate Zone 2 (e.g., open the door/window) and ensure it displays correctly on the keypad and functions as intended (e.g., starts the entry delay or instantly alarms).

Note: After changing the zone definition, the zone attributes may reset to default. You may need to program the zone attributes (section [101] to [132, 102] for zone 2) to customize further options.
