The steps to change your PROA7PLUS security system to “local” involve enabling the Local Alarm Mode, which disables monitoring station communication.
Enabling Local Alarm Mode
When enabled, the system acts as a local “noise-maker” with an audible siren but does not send signals to a central monitoring station. This mode is often used during initial setup or testing.
- Access the Menu: From the home screen, tap the Menu icon (three horizontal lines) at the bottom center of the screen.
- Select Tools: Scroll down and tap Tools.
- Enter Installer Code: When prompted, enter the 4-digit installer code. The default code is 4112.
- Select Local Alarm Mode: Scroll down the list of options and tap Local Alarm Mode.
- Toggle the feature ON: Slide the toggle switch to enable the mode. A confirmation screen will appear asking you to confirm; select “Yes, Enable”.
- Reboot the Panel: The panel will automatically reboot to apply the changes. This process can take several minutes.
Notes on Local Mode
- Communicator Disabled: Enabling this mode disables the system’s communicator, preventing it from searching for or registering with the AlarmNet server.
- No Central Monitoring: Alarms will sound locally (sirens) but will not alert any external monitoring service.
- Time/Date: If you intend to use the system only as a local alarm without monitoring, the system will not automatically sync the date and time from the AlarmNet360 server. The date and time must be set manually.
