To connect a PowerG IQ Remote to an IQ Panel, you can use either Wi-Fi or PowerG. For PowerG, enable auto-learn on the panel, then press the PowerG pair button on the remote. For Wi-Fi, connect the remote to the same Wi-Fi network as the panel, then use the panel’s Wi-Fi devices menu to initiate pairing from there.
PowerG connection
This method is generally preferred due to its extended range.
- Navigate to the auto-learn menu on the IQ Panel: Go to
Settings>Advanced Settings>Installation>Devices>Security Sensors. - Select “Auto-Learn”: Tap the
+icon and selectAuto-Learn. - Start the auto-learn process: On the IQ Panel, tap
Start Autolearn. - Press the PowerG pair button: On the IQ Remote, find and press the PowerG pair button. The remote’s ID should appear on the IQ Panel’s screen.
Wi-Fi connection
This is a good alternative if the PowerG signal is weak or you prefer to use Wi-Fi.
- Connect the IQ Remote to Wi-Fi: On the IQ Remote, enable Wi-Fi and connect it to the same Wi-Fi network as the IQ Panel.
- Navigate to the Wi-Fi devices menu on the IQ Panel: Go to
Settings>Advanced Settings>Installation>Devices>Wi-Fi Devices. - Initiate Wi-Fi pairing: Select
IQ Remoteand tapPair. - Press the Wi-Fi pair button on the remote:The devices will then begin pairing automatically.
After pairing
- Once the pairing is complete, the IQ Panel should show the IQ Remote’s status as active.
- You will be able to configure options like the sensor name on the panel.
- The IQ Remote may perform software and firmware updates upon connection, which could cause it to reboot several times.
