The Qolsys IQ Remote can be paired with the IQ Panel 4 via Wi-Fi or PowerG connection. The device acts as a secondary keypad for basic functions and most programming must still be done on the main panel.
Prerequisites
- Ensure both the IQ Panel 4 and the IQ Remote are powered on.
- The IQ Remote should be connected to the same 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network as the main panel for Wi-Fi pairing.
- You will need the Installer Code for the main panel (default is
1111).
Pairing via Wi-Fi (Recommended)
Wi-Fi enrollment is generally recommended as the remote will automatically download any necessary software updates during the process.
On the main IQ Panel 4:
- Swipe down from the top of the screen to open the Settings tray.
- Tap Settings, then Advanced Settings.
- Enter your Installer Code (default
1111). - Tap Installation, then Devices, then Wi-Fi Devices, and finally IQ Remote Devices.
- Tap Pair.
On the IQ Remote:
- Power up the device by pressing and holding the power button for about 3-5 seconds until the screen illuminates.
- Touch Activate Wi-Fi and connect to the same Wi-Fi network as the main panel.
- On the enrollment page, touch Pair.
The remote will connect, download any necessary updates, and then display the home screen.
Pairing via PowerG
This method is an alternative if Wi-Fi is unavailable or you prefer a PowerG connection (which offers superior range and reliability).
On the main IQ Panel 4:
- Navigate to the installer interface: Settings > Advanced Settings > Enter Installer Code > Installation > Devices > Security Sensors.
- Tap the plus icon, then select AutoLearn.
- Tap Start AutoLearn at the bottom of the screen.
On the IQ Remote:
- On the enrollment page, select PowerG Pair.
- The main panel will recognize the device and display its PowerG ID.
- On the main panel, configure options like the keypad name and voice prompts, then tap Add or Save.
After configuration, the remote is ready for use. You can pair up to eight IQ Remotes with a single IQ Panel 4 system.
