DMP X1 system requirements

The DMP X1 system’s requirements are primarily based on its physical installation and power, as it is an access control hardware system, not a computer-based one. Key requirements include a power source between 12-24V AC or DC, a suitable enclosure for mounting, and a network connection (Ethernet, Wi-Fi, or optional cellular).

The system also needs compatible hardware, such as readers and door contacts, and is programmed through a separate dealer web portal.

Power and connectivity

  • Power input: Must have a 12-24V AC or DC power supply. It can also be powered by a compatible UL 294 listed power-over-ethernet (PoE) switch.
  • Connectivity: Requires a network connection for communication, which can be Ethernet or Wi-Fi. An optional cellular module can be added for primary or backup communication.

Installation and hardware

  • Enclosure: The system’s metal enclosure must be mounted directly to a wall or backboard.
  • Expansion: The system is expandable with add-on modules, allowing one X1 controller to manage up to eight doors via XD modules.
  • Reader compatibility: Supports Wiegand and OSDP reader protocols, as well as Bluetooth credentials.
  • Wiring: Includes terminals for wiring inputs like door contacts, request-to-exit devices, and outputs for alarms or locks.
  • Battery backup: The system has battery backup capabilities to maintain functionality during a power outage.

Software and management

  • Programming: The X1 system is programmed via the DMP Dealer Admin™ web portal, not on the device itself.
  • Management: Once programmed, it can be managed through the Virtual Keypad mobile app or the web portal.
